What happens if I change my WooCommerce product?

There are several things you can adjust in a WooCommerce product. If you have also published this product on Amazon, it is nice to have all the data right. Consider, for example:

  • Stock level
  • Selling price
  • General product information, such as: images and other content

Adjust stock

There are various situations in which the stock is adjusted. We explain the different situations below.

WooCommerce order

As soon as a WooCommerce order comes in, the stock - in addition to being adjusted in WooCommerce - must also be adjusted in Amazon. The Amazon WooCommerce plugin ensures that the adjustment of the stock takes place automatically after an order has been received.

Amazon order

It is also possible that an Amazon order is received. In that case, the stock should not only be updated in Amazon, but also in WooCommerce. This happens when the Amazon orders are imported into WooCommerce.

Since the import of Amazon orders takes place every 5 minutes, your inventory may not fully match for a few minutes. For this we added the Preserve Stock Offset setting to the global settings. This setting ensures that the stock on Amazon is always lower by the number you enter here. This way you never sell a product that is no longer in stock.

You can find the Preserve Stock Offset via WooCommerce > Settings > Amazon tab > mini-tab Settings.

WooCommerce product

Finally, it can happen that you manually adjust the stock of a product in the WooCommerce product. In this case, too, the new stock must be automatically transferred to Amazon.

As soon as you adjust the stock in the WooCommerce product and update the WooCommerce product, it is automatically prepared to update towards Amazon.

Interval updates

Everything updates are put in a queue, which is processed every 5 minutes. This is because Amazon has put a limit on the number of requests per minute. By building a queue that is cleared every 5 minutes, we make the most efficient use of Amazon's limits.
